MULBERRY INN
HOME FOR MOMS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN

Kicking off a fundraising campaign, with a dinner honoring Leslie Longacre, CEO of South Lake Hospital, in the fall of 2008 New Beginnings began to transform an old inn into a Woman with Children’s Home. After three months of major renovations, New Beginnings of Lake County opened the doors of the Mulberry Inn Women with Children’s Home on Saturday, September 12th. This magnificent 1890’s Victorian Home on ½ acre in Historic Downtown Clermont has been transformed into a home for mothers with young children. The property has three large buildings and plenty of space for children to play, as well as a gazebo to host special events for the community.

New Beginnings wants to express gratitude to the businesses, organizations and individuals that donated furnishings, services and materials; including over $50,000 of building materials, as well as to the hundreds of volunteers that logged over 300 hours. We thank each and every one of those in the community that gave from their heart to bless this project and assist us as we continue to move forward to transform the lives of mothers with children.

NEW COMMUNITY CENTER

A future learning center for the community is underway. It will include life skills and job training, a computer lab and a large food pantry downstairs with an area allowing for space to tutor kids and provide activities. We have received the approval of Clermont ‘s Planning & Zoning Department  and we anticipate having  our permits approved on time in order to start renovations by September 2011.   The floor plans are completed, and we continue to receive donated materials and furnishings.   Many volunteers are coming forward offering their services.   Due to the huge need for this facility we are praying that God provides the resources for this to be completed ASAP.  Anyone wanting to help please contact us at (352) 404 6946 or email us at info@newbeginningslake.org.
